Exquisite Dining in London Town

If you’re looking for inspiration for where to go out and eat, or where to take your significant other to a place for a date, then you’re in luck. I will give you Asiabee’s run down of some of my favourite sophisticated places to feast.

Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh is a critically acclaimed pan-Asian restaurant located in Camden Town. The decor is amazing and so intricate. This is definitely a place I would go if I’m with a group of friends as the atmosphere is busy, bubbly and happening. However, they do have private rooms which are quieter for you and your date if that’s what you choose to do. My favourite thing to order on the menu is Thai chicken curry with jasmine rice, with my favourite cocktail in the whole wide world – a delectable Mai Thai.

Shaka Zulu

Shaka Zulu is London’s largest South African restaurant. It’s doors opened  in August 2010 with a special royal blessing from the Zulu King, HRH Goodwill Zwelithini.

Shaka Zulu is set over a groundbreaking 27,000 sq ft in The Stables Market, Camden.  With spectacular two floors, this magnificent restaurants offers a bar, delicious food, live music and daytime family entertainment.

I normally frequent Shaka Zulu in the mid afternoon when I’m feeling to treat myself and a colleague. However it’s a great spot for birthday celebrations or a sophisticated evening out with the husband.

Benihanna

At Benihana, it’s not just a meal, it’s an experience “Benihanna”.

I definitely would agree with this statement. Benihanna has to be one of my favourite places to go to. The waiters and waitresses are so friendly and they really put on a show to create a great dinning experience. Their food preparation immediately set it apart as they cook the food right in front of you and they do not have a conventional kitchen. The chefs prepare and cook entrees at a table called the Hibachi grill.

I enjoy ordering the fillet mignon, with black cod and Hibachi rice.

I would definitely take a date to a place like this as the atmosphere is great for breaking up awkward silences due to the show that is put on by the chefs.

Also, the dinning here is quite unique as you are seated with other people you don’t know. So if you don’t mind the lack of privacy then Benihanna is the place for you.

Hakkasan

This restaurant is the leading destination if you want to experience Michelin starred Cantonese food. I normally dine at the Mayfair location. If you’re looking to impress your date, or treat your loved ones, then this is the place to be. There is so much to choose from the menu and the ambience is perfect for an intimate setting.

I enjoy the Dim sum starter, followed by Hakkasan’s signature peking duck with Royal Beluga caviar, Hakkasan special reserve ‘Qiandao’ caviar or Prunier caviar.

Then for dessert it has got to be Matcha apple custard bun

poached apple, vanilla, almond feuillitine. So scrumptious!!

The Ritz

I have definitely left the best till last. The Ritz is a truly breathtaking place to dine. I don’t even know where to start. The opulence of this place is unreal and the decor is like none other. The Ritz Restaurant is a Michelin starred restaurant. This is the kind of place to bring your wife or your husband for a very special occasion. Alternatively if you’re seriously trying to impress someone then this is the place to be. I can guarantee they will be in love with you by the time they leave. They will feel like royalty even if it’s just for a day. The menu offers sensational contemporary incarnations of classical French dishes using the finest seasonal British ingredients.

The Everyday Makeup Look

 Hi lovelies,

If I have to be completely honest, I’m not one for wearing much make up or even wearing make up at all. You can find me most of the times in my own little world galavanting to everyday places with no make up on whatsoever. I’ll wear make up if there’s a special occasion, sometimes to church, or to an event or an important function.

When I do wear make up, I prefer to go for the more natural and subtle look which usually involves a light base or foundation and no eye shadow. So girlies, if you want to look absolutely fabulous everyday or even to events or outings but still want to be able to wear make up without your face looking like it belongs to a different person then keep reading for a sneak peak of my everyday make up look.

First things first, if you’re anything like me, I tend to shine a lot around my nose area which I really don’t like. At the moment, I use MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone Treatment Soin. It’s a good temporary solution as it almost instantly keeps my nose area hydrated but looking dry. My only concern is that it’s slightly too temporary as I’ll often have to powder my nose throughout the day to keep it dry.

The rest of my face can get quite dry upon applying foundation so I’m happy to have found a little solution to that which I’ll address in a moment. For your base, it’s best to use a foundation that is light or weightless and preferably fragrance free. I use Iman’s Second to None, Cream to Powder foundation. It helps give a more natural look and I think it’s perfect for my skin tone as it literally blends in.

I don’t use this foundation by itself though. I mix it with Iman’s BB Creme (skin tone evener). This creme moisturises my skin and gives my face a glossy look. A friend told me that Nars also produce very good and natural looking and weightless foundations and it works great for her.

My advice if you want to avoid looking ‘overdone’ or ‘caked’ with too much make up on is to avoid heavier and thicker foundations, such as Mac’s and Fashion Fair’s. It’s great if you prefer to have that look, or if you have a lot of breakouts on your face for example, but if you want an everyday natural look then a lighter foundation is the better option.

OK, so you have the base done, but one thing is missing – a warm and subtle blusher to add warmth to your cheeks. I only use one blusher and it has served me well as it compliments my skin tone and adds the right bit of warmth to my face. Fashion Fair’s Beauty Blush Warm Sand when put on correctly can enhance your look. I usually use a correct blusher brush, squeeze my cheeks, apply a hint of blusher, smile, then add some more blusher to my cheeks. You don’t need a lot as the last thing you want is to walk around looking like a clown.

For your eyes, I would suggest only wearing mascara, I like wearing eye liner and eye shadow, but come on, we’re going for the everyday look so looking as natural as possible is best. You can experiment with your mascara and choose one that you prefer but that isn’t too thick. When it comes to my make up, I buy products from concessions or the actual brand’s store. However, when it comes to my mascara, I will always purchase it at any high street store (within reason).

For my lips, I will use Vaseline’s petroleum jelly Rosy Lips. Now bear with me, as you’re doing the everyday make up look, you don’t want to apply lipstick that will thicken your lips and give you a beautiful but unnatural shade of colour. Lip gloss is great, but sometimes it can make your lips shine really bright whereas we want a more subtle overall make up tone. Vaseline’s Rose Lips is a pinkish colour and blends in with almost everyone’s natural lip colour. However, if you’re like, hell no, I need something substantial on my lips, then why not go for a nude coloured lipstick or lipgloss. Oh, I don’t forget to use a nude coloured lip pencil to give you a neat finish.

Last of all, I nearly always use powder to complete my look. I use Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Finished Pressed Powder. It’s a darker colour to my actual skin tone which I like as it means that it completely covers my face and better compliments the skin colour of my neck which is darker than my face.

I hope my everyday make up look tips helped you and that you feel ready to walk the runway and still feel and look beautiful but natural at the same time.

Perfumes For Every Occassion

Hey ladies,
If you’re anything like me then you’re obsessed with perfumes and you understand that every perfumes has its occasion.
Over the years I would brand myself as a perfume conisseure. I love all things about perfumes from the design bottle, to the brand and most importantly the smell.
I truly think that the right perfume compliments your outfit and your final look, bizarre right, but I believe this to be so true. So without further ado I will go through my 5 list of favourite perfumes that I cannot live without and give you a little insight as to what perfume goes with what occasion.
COCO CHANEL
This is my favourite perfume in the whole wide world. Chanel only comes out to play if I’m going to prestigious places, such as the Ritz, Church , The Ivy and places of this standard.
MARC JACOBS DECADENCE
I wore this perfume to my sister in law’s wedding in Tuscany, Italy. I can remember most people at the party asking me what perfume I was wearing. Some even went as far to say I smelled good enough to eat lol.
GUCCI by GUCCI
Myself and this perfume have been on many travels to places such as Miami, New York, and Atlanta. Whenever I put this perfume on it’s a flash back of past experiences and people who got to share this time with me.
YSL BABY DOLL
I absolutely love the scent of this perfume. It’s one of my old time favourites. I only ever wear this perfume when I’m in Paris. The culture, the fashion and the people brings all the scents this perfume has to offer to life.
LADY MILLION by PACO RABANNE
Well what more can I say. The name of this perfume explains itself. When I  want to feel like a million bucks I just drown myself in this scent, grab my clutch bag and head out to London with my girls for a sophisticated night out at the theatre followed by dinner at Hakkasan.
So there you have it ladies. Perfumes are more than just scents. For me, it’s a reminder of the fabulous life I’ve lived thus far, all the beautiful people I have met in some of the most beautiful places in the world. It’s also fascinating to me that a scent can bring back so much memories and can identify a significant place in time .With my love of perfumes I can only say I’m looking forward to the memories of the future, one scent at a time.

Winter Glam Fur-Fabulous

Hey lovelies,

I absolutely love fur coats and ‘glam’ such as glittery and sparkly pieces of clothing and jewellery, although I don’t tend to wear jewellery often. If you’re one of those lovely ladies who have to endure the autumn and winter season like I do, then you’ll know exactly what I mean when I say, “it’s absolutely freezing, cold toes, frost bites, stiffness and just plain cold”! My favourite season like many people is Summer, but since Summer is long gone and Winter is fast approaching I thought I should share my Winter Glam – Fur-Fabulous look with you guys.

Just for comfort and for style, I wore this sleeveless cream and black laced jumpsuit and added some sparkle to it by pairing it with a sequin under garment. This definitely helps give the jumpsuit a more glam look.

I really like these boots as you can dress them up or dress them down depending on the occasion. The heel is about 4 inches long and the gold buckle and suede strip it has on the sides gives them a unique look. I always like to stand out where I can when it comes to fashion because I don’t really want people to look at me and be like oh I know exactly where you bought this and the time and the place and when the following year becomes the present year I would still like to be able to wear what I want without seeming dated. So back to the boots, when the weather is frosty and you’re going somewhere nice like on a nice date or a party, you can exchange heels for comfy and weather kind boots.

I love fur coats! Love, love, love! You can wear anything (obviously within reason, 😀), but as soon as you put a fur coat on, all of a sudden you look glam and completely dressed up. I am someone who gets cold quite easily so it really helps that I have a beautiful and big faux fur coat to keep me warm when I’m out. This faux fur coat is mid length and is a nice jet black colour. It also comes with a belt which certainly compliments the coat and cinches your waist slightly when you put the belt on so it gets rid of that ‘frumpy’ look.

The gold jewellery is so lush, so simple but yet so beautiful and lightweight. It’s gold plated and I have to say it really does this outfit justice. A dash of classy and simple gold earrings and you’re good to go.

So there you have it, my Winter Glam – Fur-Fababulous look.

Let me know what you think guys.

How To Marry A Millionaire

How To Marry A Millionaire

That’s the million dollar question!

Hey ladies,

I know some of you may have seen this film starring Marilyn Monroe. I have to say it is one of my favourite films. If you haven’t seen it, I will give you a quick break down of the synopsis of the film.

It features three friends who are on the quest to marry a millionaire.  They place themselves in a fancy New York apartment in hopes of attracting such men. What they quickly realise is that most of these men are either creeps or cons. Eventually they must decide – is a life of luxury more important to them than finding true love?

For those of you who say yes, below are some of my tips in meeting such men.

Dress For Success

Ladies, it is so important to act like you belong before you’ve made it yourself. Dressing for success is the starting point in meeting a millionaire. You need to make sure all heads spin when you enter and leave a room. Your ora must give out that you are a lady of a certain calibre and standard. If you don’t want a scrub then don’t dress like one.

Be At The Right Place At The Right Time

You need to sniff out all the best places to be at and be seen. This takes some research, however if you’re determined they can easily located. Mixing with the right group of people connects you to the type of man you’re searching for. By now you’ve all heard of that saying “fake it till you make it”, well you’re going to have to do a lot of that. Mingling with rich people ain’t cheap but in order to make money you have to spend money.

Speak The Lingo

Believe it or not, but people judge and stereotype people on how they speak. You must be able to articulate your words if you’re in search of a millionaire. You must give the impression that you’re well educated and have a good head on your shoulder. No millionaire wants to be with somebody they can’t bring into their social circle so bear that in mind.

Why Spend Mine When I Can Spend Yours

Ladies listen up – this is very important. Although you want a millionaire and that’s all exciting and stuff. You still need to have something going for yourself. All circumstances change even for millionaires and you need to know that you’ve got something to fall back on when that day comes. So be a go getter and have your own means of earning money and providing for yourself. That way you can comfortably say why spend mine when I can spend yours lol.

Behind Every Successful Man Is A Successful Woman

This phrase is so true ladies. We are an integral part to any mans success. So although we are hunting for a millionaire we must remember that we have the capabilities to make it on our own.
