If you’re looking for inspiration for where to go out and eat, or where to take your significant other to a place for a date, then you’re in luck. I will give you Asiabee’s run down of some of my favourite sophisticated places to feast.
Gilgamesh is a critically acclaimed pan-Asian restaurant located in Camden Town. The decor is amazing and so intricate. This is definitely a place I would go if I’m with a group of friends as the atmosphere is busy, bubbly and happening. However, they do have private rooms which are quieter for you and your date if that’s what you choose to do. My favourite thing to order on the menu is Thai chicken curry with jasmine rice, with my favourite cocktail in the whole wide world – a delectable Mai Thai.
Shaka Zulu is London’s largest South African restaurant. It’s doors opened in August 2010 with a special royal blessing from the Zulu King, HRH Goodwill Zwelithini.
Shaka Zulu is set over a groundbreaking 27,000 sq ft in The Stables Market, Camden. With spectacular two floors, this magnificent restaurants offers a bar, delicious food, live music and daytime family entertainment.
I normally frequent Shaka Zulu in the mid afternoon when I’m feeling to treat myself and a colleague. However it’s a great spot for birthday celebrations or a sophisticated evening out with the husband.
At Benihana, it’s not just a meal, it’s an experience “Benihanna”.
I definitely would agree with this statement. Benihanna has to be one of my favourite places to go to. The waiters and waitresses are so friendly and they really put on a show to create a great dinning experience. Their food preparation immediately set it apart as they cook the food right in front of you and they do not have a conventional kitchen. The chefs prepare and cook entrees at a table called the Hibachi grill.
I enjoy ordering the fillet mignon, with black cod and Hibachi rice.
I would definitely take a date to a place like this as the atmosphere is great for breaking up awkward silences due to the show that is put on by the chefs.
Also, the dinning here is quite unique as you are seated with other people you don’t know. So if you don’t mind the lack of privacy then Benihanna is the place for you.
This restaurant is the leading destination if you want to experience Michelin starred Cantonese food. I normally dine at the Mayfair location. If you’re looking to impress your date, or treat your loved ones, then this is the place to be. There is so much to choose from the menu and the ambience is perfect for an intimate setting.
I enjoy the Dim sum starter, followed by Hakkasan’s signature peking duck with Royal Beluga caviar, Hakkasan special reserve ‘Qiandao’ caviar or Prunier caviar.
Then for dessert it has got to be Matcha apple custard bun
poached apple, vanilla, almond feuillitine. So scrumptious!!
I have definitely left the best till last. The Ritz is a truly breathtaking place to dine. I don’t even know where to start. The opulence of this place is unreal and the decor is like none other. The Ritz Restaurant is a Michelin starred restaurant. This is the kind of place to bring your wife or your husband for a very special occasion. Alternatively if you’re seriously trying to impress someone then this is the place to be. I can guarantee they will be in love with you by the time they leave. They will feel like royalty even if it’s just for a day. The menu offers sensational contemporary incarnations of classical French dishes using the finest seasonal British ingredients.
