Prosperity & Poverty

Prosperity & Poverty

“Prosperity is a way of living and thinking and not just money or things. Poverty is a way of living and thinking, and not just the lack of money or things” – Eric Butterworth (I first heard this quote from the UCKG). I’ve noticed this for myself. Not long ago I started thinking and observing how the rich are and how the poor are. I mean, talking to certain people and then observing others I inspire to be like. I noticed that the ‘rich’ are positive, they have ‘can do’ attitudes and they don’t let things or people get in their way. If someone tells them it can’t be done – they’ll prove to them that it can. These people are doers – they have vision, ideas and they act. Whereas others wait on people to bless them, always asking for help and never really believe they can do things for themselves. They are huge procrastinators and love the word, ‘tomorrow’. Unfortunately, tomorrow never comes and as I’m sure you know, someday isn’t actually a day. Basically, you can acquire, achieve and conquer anything you set your mind to – as cliche as this sounds, it’s true. Don’t forget to always act!

Being Replaced

Being Replaced
I was reading an article from LinkedIn a few months ago about Nokia. I’m not sure if Nokia wrote the article or if LinkedIn or someone else did, but the article was in reference to Nokia, the mobile phone brand. It touched me so much and reiterated what I’ve always believed in. Life is always changing and although you can be successful and relevant today, you may not be tomorrow. You always have to upgrade and update your brand, be in the ‘know’ about what is happening around you and your competitors and don’t be afraid of change. Change is inevitable. So having said this, have a read of a very short extract of the article I read.
The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.
To change and improve yourself is giving yourself a second chance. To be forced by others to change, is like being discarded.
Those who refuse to learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry. They will learn the lesson in a hard & expensive way.
Don’t be replaced and disregarded!

The Value Of A Pound – Girl Talk

The Value Of A Pound – Girl Talk

Money is so powerful and with it you can buy all the material things in the world, the house, the car, the Louis Vuitton hand bag and the Chanel lipstick. Funnily enough, you can also buy ‘friends’, bribe people and influence others to do good or bad. That’s the power of money, and it is still valued either way. That’s the power of people, of women.

You see or know a guy that you really like, his swag, his personality, the smile he gives you and the poetry he tells you and you’re sold. Perhaps he’s just being nice or that’s just how he is. So, you try to grab his attention, get him to ask you out, to take you out. One week, two weeks, one month, six months, and still nothing. Until, that is, you notice him showing interest towards one of your friends. That’s not enough to make you realise that maybe he’s not for you, or make you think, “why would I want to date a guy that is openly, and obviously showing interest towards another girl”.  You lower your standards and devalue yourself just to get a guy to like you a little bit more than a friend would.

Instead of counting your blessings and thanking God that at least he’s not the one for you and so you’ll find someone better than him and more suited to you, you don’t. You turn against your friend, show dislike towards her and even envy. Plotting to put a halt to anything and everything. Why ruin a good friendship with someone because of a ‘thought’. A guy that tells you you’re his friend.

Basically, a guy may not like who someone else loves. Even if you may have devalued yourself in that respect, you’re still valuable and you should know your worth. Don’t stress out over someone that is not meant to be. The value of a pound is that even if it gets dirty, or wet, or trampled on – it’s still a pound and still valuable, that’s the pound sterling.

My top tip to a valuable road – write down all the qualities about yourself and reflect on them – it will do you a world of good.

Wisdom More Precious Than Rubies

Wisdom More Precious Than Rubies

“No mention shall be made of coral or quartz, for the price of wisdom is above rubies” Job 28:18.

Rubies are classified as a precious stone, but can be bought, just like coral, quartz and diamonds.

We all know you can’t buy wisdom, knowledge or understanding (lol imagine if you could),

they are all things we need to grasp. I’m not referring to formal education at all, but things

that are so treasurable that it needs to be kept inside yourself and shared with others. Some

dictionaries define wisdom as,

“The quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement; the quality of being wise”.

I believe wisdom is more than that, it’s about learning from your experiences and life’s lessons and teaching and advising others not to commit the same mistakes and wrong doings. Here’s a quote to reflect on;

“And to man he said, ‘behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding’”. Job 28:28

In a nutshell, I’m advised to stay away from so many wrong and harmful things for the benefit of myself and others. This includes: not intentionally damaging my body as it’s a temple i.e. smoking, excessive drinking of alcohol, self-harming etc. and forgiving others so I can be set free, it is proven that grudges promotes various kinds of health problems – there are so many other examples. Love my neighbour as myself – this means loving others just as you love yourself. However, before this I’m advised to love God before everything. Loving God, a higher being, a supernatural power, means that He is always watching me and I would do my upmost best to not do anything I know I shouldn’t do.

I just have to add that positive and optimistic thoughts makes a huge difference to the outcome of your life as well. All these small but great bits of information can help to create a better version of yourself. Well… I’m off to see what else I can feed myself with (metaphorically speaking).

Another statement before I go – everyone needs a teacher in life – the question is who will be yours?

Smile! You’re Stronger Than You Think

Smile! You’re Stronger Than You Think

Smile, you’re stronger than you think! Have you ever gone through a difficult time in your life and reached the other side and thought, wow I made it! I have! Sometimes we go through problems that make us feel trapped – completely stuck, and we don’t know how to sort it. I found that seeking GOOD advice from trusted and respected people helped. You don’t have to go through this alone. I find that seeking inspirational messages and blogs helps to lift my spirit, and being around positive people makes a huge difference. Unfortunately, some people go through hard times and don’t overcome it – they give up. Just remember:

1. you’re stronger than you think.

2. Seek inspiration and positive messages

3. Seek good and sound advice

4. Be around positive people

5. I’m a strong believer of God – and seek him, especially when I’m in need.
